Just got back from a NYC trip that included some choral teaching, and casting for the reading. Exhausted but excited about everyone on board so far! The website is expanded and I'll be adding cast bios soon.

Saturdays, 6:00pm. Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea, 1010 Windsor Lane, Key West. For a year now, I have been the combo pianist/cantor (aka song leader) for the 6:00pm mass on Saturdays at St. Mary's. I am loving being back in church music and working with a congregation and staff so full of love and acceptance. FREE (even if they pass the plate!). :-)
2013

I'll be singing a couple of solos, as well as group numbers, and will also be one of the evening's narrators! 2014
Tuesdays through Saturdays, April 8–19, 8:00pm, SOUVENIR, Waterfront Playhouse, Key West.I could not be more excited about appearing as Florence Foster Jenkins in this lovely little treasure of a play-with-music--it's been on my Bucket List for about seven years now! With Charles Lindbergh as Cosme McMoon, Ms. Foster Jenkins' accompanist during the last years of her life, and directed by Cameron Murray, this little play focuses on Cosme's relationship with this socialite of the 30s who showed her great love of opera and classical vocal literature by presenting recitals--starring herself--at the Ritz Carlton and Carnegie Hall. The bad news--of which she was unaware--is that...she couldn't sing!!! For information and tickets, visit the Waterfront's website.
Friday–Sunday, April 25–27. CONCH REPUBLIC (The Musical!) (Monnie O. King, book; Gayla D. Morgan, music and lyrics), KW FRINGE at the San Carlos Institute, Key West. Returning for its second KW production during the week that celebrates the very event it re-creates, this fun and informational musical that I wrote with Monnie King is about Key West's cheeky secession from the U.S. in the early 1980s. It will star most of the local cast who created these roles in 2013--Michael Aaglan, Michael McCabe, Annie Miners, Laurie Breakwell, Billy Cartledge, Tony Konrath--and will be directed by the brilliant Rebecca Tomlinson, with Matt Castle from NYC music directing. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the KW Fringe website.
Tuesday, May 6, and Wed–Sat, May 7–24. A DOG STORY (Eric H. Weinberger, book; Gayla D. Morgan, music and lyrics), Waterfront Playhouse, Key West.I am sooooo proud--the musical I wrote with Eric Weinberger is the final production in the Waterfront's 2013–14 season!!! This is (if I do say so myself) a charming little show about how a dog changes the life and heart of someone who has never had a dog before. Starring Key West's beloved Kristen Michelle (yes, she spends her year in NY, but she belongs to us!), newcomer to Key West David Perlman, returning actress Stephanie Sander, and local vocalist/actor Trey Forsyth, and directed by NYC's Frank Galgano. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the Waterfront's website.
